Heat Coaching Staff
Thank you for your willingness to serve as a coach for Tennessee Heat Sports! In order to begin the season with your team, please carefully follow the steps on this page to complete your onboarding process.
STEP 1: Registration
Please click the black REGISTER button on this page to begin the process. You will be asked to review various documents and electronically sign each one indicating your understanding and agreement to the policies and information within.
STEP 2: CPR/AED/FIRST AID TRAINING
For TN Heat coaching staff to remain up-to-date and compliant with health training and insurance requirements, our coaches must become certified in CPR training. A valid, current certificate is required and should be uploaded to your Crossbar account (in the documents section).
OPTION 1: If you have completed a recent CPR/AED training through your workplace, please upload that certificate to your Crossbar profile after your have registered. The expiration date must not fall during the upcoming school year.
OPTION 2: If you do not have a valid CPR/AED certificate, please contact Kristi Scott (coachkristiscott@gmail.com) to request a course code for free online training. You can study and retake the test as much as needed. Once your training is complete, please upload your certificate to Crossbar. Here is the link for the training once you receive your course code.
STEP 3: Concussions Training
Every year our coaches are required to complete concussion training. You will click the state "Tennessee" in the drop down menu and continue to the "check out." It will have you set up an account in your name. Don't worry, it is a free item, but it still makes you go through the process of checking out. The training is completed online at your convenience. After you complete this training, you will need to download a copy of the certificate and upload it to your Crossbar profile (in the documents section).
STEP 4: BACKGROUND CHECK
Coaches must contact Board Member, Rusty Catlin (rcatlin23@gmail.com), to begin the background check process. You will then receive an email from Sterling Volunteers requesting that you submit your information to run the background check. You must receive confirmation that the background check has cleared PRIOR TO ANY CONTACT with athletes. Your certificate will be uploaded on your behalf into your Crossbar profile when completed.
2025-2026 School Year
Every year our coaches are required to complete various forms of training, agree to policies and procedures, and update background checks.
